Karen Beninati started out her career as an independent movie producer. It was an exciting and rewarding job and she loved it but life interrupted. She had a baby and suffered from postpartum depression — losing self-confidence. Feeling like a change in location might be helpful, she moved to Portland, Oregon and that was where she came up with the idea for the innovative childcare center, weVillage.
